2.28.2010 ~ Children

One of the great things about having young children in the house is the fact that books are always on-hand.  LOVING this title right now.

"I'm a pout-pout fish
With a pout-pout face,
So I spread the dreary-wearies
All over the place."

We can all learn very meaningful lessons through these fine works of literature.  Plus, I am more likely to actually COMPLETE a book if it has nice colorful images alongside the story.

2.26.2010 ~ {Life with} Children

Regardless of the hours spent cleaning my house, there is always a "collection" of toys SOMEWHERE!  One day I will miss this, I know I will.  So for now, it is my goal to keep the house at a "safe" level of clean.  No growing fungus, few dust bunny colonies, clean clothes to cover my family, and no rolling toys on the kitchen floor (painful lesson ~ just trust me on that one).

2.21.2010 ~ Hidden Letters in Life

The letter "N"

We have experienced an absolutely PERFECT weekend here in East Tennessee.  Spent Sunday afternoon at the driving range with Jeff and the kids.  My son is trying out for the golf team and wanted some range time.  All five of us ended up "playing" and enjoyed the time.

2.20.2010 ~ Missing Letter

No letter today.  Just a little Baby Love.

Got to spend the afternoon with this sweet little one.  Her mom has taught all three of my children in Kindergarten.  Our friendship has grown over the years and we are so thankful Mrs. Tara and her family.

2.15.2010 ~ Hidden Letters in Life

This week is going to be a challenge.  Today's photo is more of a "secret" letter than "hidden".

My youngest daughter had to go for immunizations this afternoon.  When she went for her kindergarten physical in August, they were out of two vaccines.  Neither one of us was looking forward to today's visit.  What's a parent to do?  BRibery of course.

Letters "B" & "R"

Brother, sister, and dad have no idea of our little secret.

2.14.2010 ~ Guilty Pleasures

This guilty pleasure comes as no surprise to those who know me.

I've been a purse addict since elementary school.  The addiction is so deep-rooted there is no cure (not that I've attempted to find one).  A purse is always the right size regardless of a weight gain/loss.  Pure bliss when a new one is aquired.

2.09.2010 ~ Guilty Pleasures (Day 2)

Cookbooks

I'm thinking these would not be considered a "guilty pleasure" if I actually referrenced them to prepare meals for my family.  However, I am obsessed with reading various cookbooks and watching Food Network.  As for preparing a variety of dishes for my family of five ~ hmmmm....still working on that.

2.08.2010 ~ Guilty Pleasures

This week's topic is certain to get me into a whole heap of trouble.  Making me confess seven guilty pleasures in photo format.  What was I thinking when I joined this challenge?

Might as well get this over with ;-)  Today I give you my first (of many) guilty pleasures:

Farmville, USA

This is a silly game that can be found online at Facebook.  You start with a small plot of land, sow a few seeds, and harvest the crops for coins.  Along the way, you invite your Facebook friends to become your Farmville neighbors.  Neighbors help each other out by sending gifts and working on each other's farms.  Slowly you become obsessed with harvesting your crops on time and building your farm.  Right now we are all begging for supplies to build a horse stable.  Never mind the fact that I sold all my horses last month, I'm determined to get that stable built.

Whew, Guilty Pleasure #1 is out!  Praying for strength to move on to the next one.

2.07.2010 ~ Personal Treasures

Treasures in the making.  The kids are always working on projects.  Be it clay, paint, or pen and paper, they are happy when they are being creative.

The girls were in awe over this timeless gem.

Dog houses for their stuffed friends.  Stella and Anna decided they needed some color added to them.

All of these photos were taken today, Sunday 2.07.10.  We were stuck at home and these projects kept them occupied for a "while".  So thankful for the new Michael's in our town.  Can you say "Lifesaver"?

2.06.2010 ~ Personal Treasures

Treasure each and every day with friends and family.  Even though they are not all perfect or noteworthy, it's part of the big picture.  Makes us who we are.

You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have.......
The Facts of Life, The Facts of Life

2.04.2010 ~ Personal Treasures

Today's treasure is a collection of items: a framed copy of our wedding invitation, wedding portrait, and my favorite bracelet.  The bracelet is filled with special charms given to me as gifts from Jeff and the kids.  The J, S, and A are the initials of my three children.

2.03.2010 ~ A week of personal treasures

My washing machine

Yes, I do understand that this is your average, run-of-the-mill household appliance.  However, I took my previous washing maching for granted for nearly 15 years.  Used her numerous times daily, never thinking anything about it.  This past Summer, she started acting "odd" and finally washed her last load of clothes.  The saying "you never know what you have until it's gone" rang true to me on that day.

So, for today's photo and tribute to my Personal Treasures, I am proud to honor the beloved Maytag washer.  We fellowship each and every morning and I treasure our relationship.

2.02.10 ~ A week of personal treasures

This plaque hangs near our front door and greets visitors when they enter our home.  It serves as a reminder of how blessed I am to have such a wonderful hubby and family.
